IOU 12th Convocation Ceremony

The 12th Convocation of the International Open University marks a special milestone in your academic journey. Years of dedication, balancing studies with family, work, and personal commitments, have brought you to this day, alhamdulillah.

Convocation is not the end of your learning — it is a moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate how far you have come, and to prepare for the many new opportunities ahead.

This year’s theme, “Faith & Innovation: Guiding the Next Generation in an AI-Driven World,” reminds us that strong values and clear purpose must guide us as we navigate a rapidly changing world. Our graduates will enter fields where technology and ethics intersect every day, and we hope this theme inspires you as you take your next steps in sha Allah.

Once again, IOU is pleased to host the online global convocation ceremony followed by a local ceremony in The Gambia where our headquarters are based, ensuring every graduate, regardless of location, can be part of the celebration. We are honored to welcome those joining us at the IOU headquarters in The Gambia, as well as the thousands who will participate virtually from around the world.

The date of the 11th Convocation is as follows:

10 January 2026
